SFGC – Golden Gate Go Tournament on May 20th

The San Francisco Go Club is pleased to announce an AGA-rated Go (囲碁/围棋/바둑) tournament in celebration of the 86th anniversary of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge in May 1937. The event will take place on Saturday, May 20th, and will offer cash prizes to division winners.

SF Go Club members are eligible to participate at no charge. Lunch will be provided. The top three winners in each division will receive certificates recognizing their achievement.

To participate in the tournament, a current AGA membership is required. We welcome go players to join us in this fun and competitive event, honoring a significant milestone in San Francisco’s history.

Tournament Details

– 3 round AGA-ranked tournament

– 30 minutes with 5x30s Byo-yomi per game

– Certificates will be awarded to the top 3 players of each division*

*Number of divisions depends on the number of players signed up


– 9:30am – Check in

– 10:00am – Round 1 (followed by a break for lunch)

– 1:00pm – Round 2

– 3:00pm – Round 3

– 5:00pm – Awards Ceremony
