Annual Members Meeting – May 20th, 6-8pm

The annual member’s meeting is a San Francisco Go Club tradition dating back to 1982 and possibly earlier. The purpose of this meeting is to gather all active members of the Go club together to elect officers and establish objectives for the year.

Program

Date: Saturday evening, May 20th, 2023

6pm – Dinner
6:30pm – Speeches from board and SFGC members
7pm – Member elections
7:15pm – Group picture
7:25 – 8:00pm – Individual yearbook pictures (cocktail attire recommended)

Election Process

Each year new officers are elected into the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. SFGC members are able to nominate themselves and others for officer positions. Officer positions are voluntary and considered a non-profit act of service to the San Francisco Go Club.

Nominees will have the opportunity to give a speech describing their vision to the club. A vote will be held for an officer position in the event of multiple nominees.

Voting and nominations are limited to SFGC members.

Officer Positions

President

The President is the chief executive officer of the corporation. The President shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board of Directors. They shall execute with the Secretary, in the name of the corporation, all deeds, bonds, contracts, and other obligations and instruments authorized by the Board of Directors.

The President shall also have such other powers and shall perform such other duties as they may be assigned by the Board of Directors.

Vice-President

The Vice-President shall be vested with all the powers and shall perform all the duties of the President in case of the absence or disability of the President.

The Vice-President shall also have such other powers and shall perform such duties as they may be assigned by the Board of Directors or the President.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps a record of the proceedings of the Board of Directors and of the meetings of the members. The Secretary may perform other duties that pertain to the office or as prescribed by the Board of Directors.

Treasurer

The Treasurer manages the funds of the corporation and is the primary responsible individual of the corporate bank account. The Treasurer manages credits and debits; facilitates the payment of expenses and collection of revenue from the club’s bank and online payment accounts (PayPal, Venmo, etc…).
